The LMT Group is investing a total of ten million euros at the Schwarzenbek site in the next few years. Fette Compacting will receive a new customer and development center.
The growth of the LMT Group is steadily increasing the need for space at the main production site in Schwarzenbek. Fette Compacting will receive an additional customer and development center as part of the planned new extension in Grabauer Strasse that will built in 2014.
More room for testing and development
Fette Compacting customers will benefit from additional machine testing rooms with cleanroom properties. These will make it possible to test even more machines simultaneously under production conditions in the future. The development department will also receive additional premises that will be used, for example, as new work areas for construction and design.
In its acceptance testing rooms Fette Compacting inspects tablet presses jointly with customers in accordance with the proven Factory Acceptance Test (FAT). This involves experts checking all the fittings of the customer’s machine – from the options of the press to peripheral processing equipment. Following initial functional checks, the machine is put through its paces in test runs under production conditions.
“The extended acceptance testing and development center in Schwarzenbek will play a central role in our international network,” says Managing Director Olaf J. Müller about the strategic importance of the extension for Fette Compacting. Additional competence centers are located at sites in China, India, South America and the USA.
